Prior to the start of Convention, 170 Circle Kers from across the globe, gathered in Denver, Colorado on August 2nd to give back to the community that was hosting this year's International Convention. This event, the 8th Annual Large Scale Service Project was a huge success! Circle Kers spent August 3rd-4th working with The Salvation Army. They collaborated in a warehouse unloading 5 large trucks of donations, sorting and organizing donations, and ripping mattresses to salvage the metal inside them. Attendees also helped at 7 different thrift stores in Denver, Northglen, and Boulder helping to sort and shelve the inventory of donations. Due to the results of their efforts, the Salvation Army was able to ship an extra 15,000 garments to thrift stores, unload approximately $10,000 worth of merchandise and dismantle 200 mattresses saving $500 in dumping fees and generating $200 in recycling revenue.
