District Large-Scale Service Project (DLSSP)

Twice a year, the District hosts a District Large-Scale Service Project (DLSSP) in conjunction with its District Service Project. For the past three years we have been holding this biannual event at the Boys and Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw, NC. As a district wide service project, members from both North and South Carolina gather for a weekend of meaningful service. To learn more about this project, check out the District Service Project page! Please also contact the DSP Chair, Eugene Bellamy Jr.

The Fall 2009 DLSSP will be held September 18-20, 2009. Registration is due September 9th.

The Spring 2010 DLSSP will be held April 9-11, 2010. Registration is due March 27th.

Fall Rally

In October, the Carolinas District is granted time to interact with the Kiwanis Family. The first of these events is Fall Rally, a part of which is hosted by Key Club! Fall Rally for 2009 has two components: a fellowship & leadership day where groups compete to demonstrate ingenuity in physical competitions (previously called Fall Fest) and a day devoted to motivational speaking and all the rides you can handle at Carowinds Amusement Park! You can spend the day with fellow Circle Kers and Key Clubbers, riding rides until the park closes. For more information, please contact the Conventions and Conferences Chair, Felicia Arriaga.

The 2009 Fall Rally will be held October 2-4, 2009. Registration is due September 15th.

Kiwanis Family Conference (KFC)

The Kiwanis Family Conference (KFC) is another October event where the Kiwanis Family comes together. It is hosted in beautiful Black Mountain, NC and is an International Kiwanis event. There will be Circle Kers, Key Clubbers, and Kiwanians from all over the nation and sometimes even the globe! It's a great opportunity to meet others, from all walks of life, who are passionate about the same things you are! The event is based on fellowship and puts attendees to the test with competitive, themed challenges. The only thing it might actually have in common with Kentucky Fried Chicken (the other KFC) is that it's also "Finger lickin' good"!

The 2009 Kiwanis Family Conference will be held October 23-25, 2009. Registration is due October 9th.

Governor's Project

This is a new event created for the 2009-2010 term! The Governor's Project is geared towards an organization of the current governor's choice. For your 2009-2010 Governor, Megan-Ames Welter, that non-profit is Frazee Dream Center. In November, Circle K members from all over North and South Carolina will have the opportunity to serve for a weekend at the Frazee Dream Center in South Carolina and learn more about this unique non-profit. For more information, please contact the Governor Project's Chair, Linda Li.

The 2009 Governor's Project event will be held November 13-15, 2009. Registration is due October 27th.

Y'ALL Conference

The Carolinas District enjoys taking part in the annual Y'ALL Conference, a regionial social affair. This weekend of fun falls on the Martin Luther King Weekend each year, so you can attend the event and still have Monday off to catch up on any school work! Each year, the event rotates between the Capital, Georgia, and Alabama districts. Occasionally, another district in the southern region is able to host the event and in 2009, the Sweet Carolinas was the one! It is a social event to promote fellowship amongst southern districts and a whole lot of fun. Although geared toward our regionial area, it's recognized as an International event since members as far as Canada and Jamaica have been known to attend!

The 2010 Y'ALL Conference will be held January 15-17, 2010 in Georgia. Registration is due December 4th.

District Convention (DCON)

In February, the Carolinas District celebrates the end of a wonderful term with its annual District Convention. Alternating each year between North and South Carolina, we gather to take care of business, such as electing new officers, voting on amendments in the House of Delegates, and attending workshops to learn more about our wonderful organization. BUT we also recognize those individuals who have worked hard all year, handing out both Club and Individual awards, as well as holding a Presidents' Banquet for all Immediate Past Club Presidents of our district. Don't forget the fun though! With our annual pie auction of presidents, district board members, and even a few surprise guests, a dance and talent show, and some spare time for sight seeing, it's a jam-packed weekend of some true Circle K-Love! For more information, please contact the Conventions and Conferences Chair, Felicia Arriaga.

The 2010 DCON will be held February 26-28, 2010 in Columbia, SC. Registration is due POSTMARKED BY February 2nd.
